 pm</strong></p><p><strong>Abstract:</strong> How will ongoing shifts in the
  global distribution of material power\, including the rise of China\, affe
 ct United Nations peace operations and other forms of collective conflict m
 anagement (CCM)? Most scholars seem to believe that peace operations are fa
 cing a period of transition\, but there is little agreement on the precise 
 nature of this change or where it might lead. Examining several previous in
 stances of CCM from 1815 to the present\, I offer a theoretical framework t
 o explain the formation\, transformation\, and disappearance of CCM systems
 \, which may help to shed light on current debates.</p><p>[gravityform id="
