A talk by Donald Horowitz: Ethnic Polarization and Power Sharing

Donald Horowitz, one of the world’s leading scholars on accommodating ethnic diversity, will speak at UBC’s School of Public Policy and Global Affairs on September 17, noon to 2 pm. The talk will examine the institutional and policy remedies that have been recommended for polities with deep ethnic divisions, before examining why these are so rarely adopted in a durable manner. The focus will be on empirical cases from Southeast and South Asia.
