Welcome Back

Welcome Back – January 3rd is the first day of class in 2018.

This year, stay up to date on the thought-provoking events and esteemed speakers visiting UBC and our Department by following us on Facebook and Twitter, and by checking our homepage regularly.

Our Department is a vibrant and diverse community of scholars, students, and alumni, and we are the second largest Department in the Faculty of Arts, with roughly 600 undergraduate students, and over 100 graduate students. We are committed to research and teaching excellence, and we have over 30 Full-Time faculty members who are leaders and innovators in the key subfields of our discipline: International Relations, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, Canadian Politics, and US Politics.

We offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees, and we provide students with a broad and deep understanding of the forces that shape law, society, the economy, international relations, and the politics of the future.

UBC’s Point Grey Campus is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people. The land it is situated on has always been a place of learning for the Musqueam people, who for millennia have passed on in their culture, history, and traditions from one generation to the next on this site.
