Paul Tennant (Ph.D, Chicago) specializes in local government, British Columbia politics, and aboriginal issues. He has advised aboriginal organizations and federal, territorial, and provincial governments on land claims and aboriginal self-government, and is presently adviser to the B.C. Treaty Commission and to the Council for Yukon First Nations. He is author of Aboriginal Peoples and Politics: The Indian Land Question in B.C., (1990) and is co-author of Government to Government: Relations Between First Nations and British Columbia, (1994) a study for the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples.
