UBC Political Science faculty and staff will host a welcome event for MA and PhD students at Locarno Beach Park Picnic Site on Friday, September 9 at 5 pm to celebrate the new academic year.

We will be meeting at the Locarno Beach Park Picnic Site. A google map image is below highlighting the location.
Safety guidelines:
- While we encourage everyone to attend, please refrain from joining if you exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms. Please complete a health check using the B.C. COVID-19 self-assessment tool here.
- Hand sanitation supplies will be available to patrons. Restrooms can be accessed with running water, soap, and hand dryer at Locarno Beach.
Event Guidelines:
- Food will be provided
- This will be an outdoor event. In case of inclement weather, we plan to move to the Buchanan Penthouse, and will confirm any change in venue via email.
- Alcohol: Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited at all picnic locations.
