THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA INVITES APPLICATIONS TO TEACH IN:

The Department of Political Science invites applications to teach in the courses and terms listed below. Applicants may apply for more than one session, and must specify which session(s) and term(s) they wish to teach. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. and experience in teaching at the college or university level, but applicants without a Ph.D. who are ABD will also be considered. The minimum salary for a 3-credit course in the Faculty of Arts is currently $7,962.24, with the expectation that the minimum rate will increase with the finalized new collective agreement.
Almost all of our courses will be in-person, there may be a few opportunities for online teaching.
All positions are subject to funding and are governed by UBC’s “Agreement and Conditions of Appointment for Sessional Lecturers.” In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. Decisions on course offerings will be made once the department has reviewed recent enrolments and assessed student demand. Due to budgetary constraints, the number of positions available is limited. Decisions for Summer Terms 1 and 2 2024 will be announced by January 30th 2024.
